IAIN HAMILTON GRANTIain works on German Idealism, with a particular focus on the work of F. W. J. Schelling and the philosophy of nature, contemporary French philosophy, Ancient thought (particularly Platonism and neo-Platonism), 'powers' ontology, and materialism. His monograph on Schelling and the philosophy of nature has been described as 'an important, indeed a groundbreaking work'. He has also co-authored with Jeremy Dunham and Sean Watson, Idealism: The History of a Philosophy. He is also the translator of a number of works in both French and German, including texts by Baudrillard, Lyotard, and Schelling. |
